Vietri sul Mare is one of the most visited villages on the Amalfi Coast and it is famous for its ceramics production. It is located right next to Salerno, at the beginning of the Amalfi Coast, which is why it is called the “first pearl“.
Vietri’s centre lies on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and is dominated by the Church of St.John the Baptist.
A majolica dome enriches this 17th-century building and turns it into a symbol of Vietri art: an art that blends creativity and bright colours with the nature surrounding the village.
You can reach the centre of Vietri sul Mare by foot with a short walk, or take one of the buses departing from Salerno. For further information, just ask the concierge.
