Amalfi Coast is one the most beautiful places in Italy and in the world, considered by UNESCO \u201cWorld Heritage\u201d<\/strong>. The Coast, 55 km long, starts from Positano and ends in Vietri sul Mare, passing through 13 cities<\/strong>. Visiting Amalfi Coast thoroughly requires at least 4-5 days, but if you are used to walk and enjoy it, a few days can be similarly exciting. Here is what to see in Amalfi Coast in a week end time.<\/p>\n

Breath-taking panoramas<\/strong>, small towns stuck in ancient times and wonderful sea are just three of the many things you will find in Amalfi Coast. Some of these places are must-to-see if you are in the area for a few days. Even if distances from a place to another on the map seem to be very short, you have to consider that the only street of the Coast<\/strong> (SS 163) is very narrow and full of bends. The panorama is really unique, but the estimated time could vary, especially in summer week ends, when there is a lot of traffic.<\/p>\n

Amalfi<\/h2>\n

You can not spend some days in Amalfi Coast without visiting Amalfi, the city that gives the name to the coast. Amalfi was built by Romans<\/strong> and reached its height when became one of the four Maritime Republics<\/strong> (together with Venice, Genoa and Pisa). Amalfi is a real jewel set in the rocks of the cliff. It is full of history and culture and the most known monument is the Duomo<\/strong>, with a huge and beautiful stairway at its entrance. The small streets in the centre of the city are perfect for relaxing walks<\/strong>, during which you can admire wonderful glimpses of the sea. You can visit the centre of Amalfi within an hour walk, that could increase if you decide to eat in one of the many restaurants that offer the best local speciality: fresh fish<\/strong>. Next summer, after four years, will take place in Amalfi the Historical Regatta of Maritime Republics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ravello<\/h2>\n

From Ravello to Amalfi is a short trip by car<\/strong>, and when you will arrive there, you will figure out that it was worth. Ravello is a small town with 2500 citizens, deep in the green hills, that develops in vertical, from the hills to the sea. The view from Ravello is really astonishing<\/strong>, especially during sunset. You will be overwhelmed by calm and relax typical of this idyllic town, even more if you visit one of the two famous villas of Ravello<\/strong>: Villa Rufolo e Villa Cimbrone. Richard Wagner<\/strong>, the famous classical composer, visited these villas in XIX century during his trip in Naples, and he was enchanted by their beauty. An artistic festival \u00a0takes place in Ravello during the summer: the Ravello Festival, which guests a lot of renowned artists and features both musical and drama shows. Positano<\/h2>\n

Positano is one of the most exclusive places of the entire Amalfi Coast and it is known all over the world. Due to the extraordinary position<\/strong>, the colourful houses, the streets full of flowers or the fashion boutiques, it is impossible not to fall in love with Positano. You can visit the town within an hour walk, getting lost through the many stairways<\/strong> or having a drink in one of the many bars, with breath-taking panorama included. If you want to visit some monuments, be sure to check out the beautiful Santa Maria Assunta Church<\/strong>, where some kind of a miracle happened a thousand years ago. If you prefer to chill at the sea, instead, you will find some of the most important beaches of all Amalfi Coast<\/strong>, like the Great Beach (Spiaggia Grande) and the Fornillo Beach.<\/p>\n

Vietri Sul Mare<\/h2>\n

Not as famous as the former ones, but not less suggestive either, Vietri Sul Mare seems to be the sum of every colour<\/strong> of the Amalfi Coast: the blue of the sea, the green of the hills, the yellow and the orange of citrus fruit. And the famous pottery<\/strong>, made here since generations, makes every colour stand out. Just visit San Giovanni Battista Church and you will realize the beauty and refinement of Vietri\u2019s pottery, that adorns the dome and the bell tower\u2019s pinnacle. But the real magic of Vietri is at the north of the town, towards the mountains, where you will find dozens of trekking paths<\/strong> with astonishing view. The most famous is the \u201cGods\u2019 Path\u201d<\/strong> (\u201cSentiero degli dei\u201d), that connects the north side of Vietri with the Cava de\u2019 Tirreni Valley.<\/p>\n

There is so much to see in Amalfi Coast that just a week end could be not enough (you will want to stay there for sure!), but in a couple of days you will restore your body and mind<\/strong> and get ready to get back to everyday\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
